What is a Big Bang?
A Big Bang is a large collaborative creation challenge between writers and artists who will work in small teams to write and illustrate a fanfiction! Creation will take place over multiple months, culminating in the posting and publication of all work on the same day. Going off with a Bang!How does it work?
After sign-ups close, Writers will submit short summaries of ideas they wish to write for the event. These summaries will then be anonymized and made available to Artists and Betas, who will select their partners based on the information provided in the summaries. Mods will match teams together, who will then work as partners on their pieces for the duration of the event, including meeting their check-in deadlines, until final posting.What kind of content is allowed?
This Big Bang will permit both NSFW content and Dark content. All content must be appropriately tagged. A content warning list will be posted in the server.How do I enter?
Sign-Up forms will be posted to all of our social media accounts! Writer, Artist, and Beta sign-ups are from March 1 - 15, and Pinch Hitter sign-ups are form March 8 - July 19. All forms will also be posted conveniently on this Carrd!Who is allowed to enter?
You must be at least 18 years of age at the time of sign-up to participate in this Big Bang. If it is discovered that you are not of age, you will be immediately banned from the event. Otherwise, there are no skill level requirements! All of JayVik Nation is welcome to join us and we would be happy to have you!What do I need to sign up?
All contributors must have a Discord account as this will be our primary form of communication. Otherwise, a Twitter/X, Tumblr, or Bluesky account is required. Aditionally, Writers must have an AO3 account. If you do not have an AO3 account, please let a moderator know so that we may send you an invitation.What will be expected of me if I sign-up?
✧ Writers are required create a complete, previously unpublished fic that is independent from any previous works (no sequels or prequels are allowed) of at least 8,000 words, with no maximum word count.✧ Artists will be asked to create a piece of cleanly lined art, with rendered colors and simple background (at minimum) by the end of the bang.✧ Betas are required to proofread the minimum of 8,000 words with no obligation to proofread works that exceed the minimum length.What about Pinch Hitters? What do they do?
A Pinch Hitter is someone who picks up the assignment of any participant who has dropped out and is unable to continue their involvement in the event. Pinch Hitters are expected to create a piece that fits the requirements of the event in a short amount of time.I have a question that wasn't answered here.
